Engineering design services
The services listed herewith can be performed directly by the ACEC’s in-kingdom staff or in special cases in association with technical consultants, specialists and designers brought in from Europe and elsewhere to supplement the local staff.

We have been engaged either as a Main Contractor or Supplemental Contractor by many in-kingdom clients. It developed a large experienced organization with broad technical skills to fulfil the typical requirements of our clients in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Region. The company has never failed to complete a project, or lost a project through default, thus, integrity and stability established.

Our multi-disciplinary approach and long established track record enables us to tailor the design of any project with emphasizes on innovation, quality of work and environment. Our designs consider all the engineering design methodologies and complexities.

We specialize in all project phases including:
Conceptual engineering Study
Front end engineering design (FEED)
Detailed engineering design (DED)
Construction scope of work documents (SOW)
Construction Specifications documents
Construction Bill of materials documents (BOM)
Preparing design drawings
Preparing as-built drawings
Preparing design calculations
Project Proposals
Design criteria
Drawing conversion (MicroStation, AutoCAD & Smart Plant)
The Scope of Engineering Design Services of ACEC is as follows. It incorporates activities for the successful implementation of projects requiring multiple resources.

Project Design Services

ACEC generally uses work force approach for large projects to perform project design services. The work force is a multi-disciplined group headed by a Project Manager delivering value engineering work and end products on time meeting client expectations within the budget. A Project may range from simple equipment replacement work to extensive engineering, procurement, and construction which typically include problem definition/evaluation, scheduling, engineering, design, purchasing, and construction.

Performance Improvement Services

We are working in the Middle East on facilities ranging from gathering systems, to cross country pipelines, GOSP facilities, bulk plants, pumping stations, tank farm gauging and modernization programs. Prepares ITB documents for numerous types of projects and other work related to gathering, preliminary treatment and transport of crude to processing facilities.

Modernization & Revamps:

Modernizations, modifications and revamps involve optimization studies, engineering, design, procurement, expediting and construction and result in the replacement or addition of plant components to enhance the plant's operation, or product mix.

Energy Efficiency Improvements:

The energy cost in a facility may constitute a major portion to the operating cost. Improved energy efficiency means improved profitability. Energy related improvements often provide indirect benefits in increased capacity. We offer services for energy efficiency improvement in the following areas:
Energy audit
Equipment modification or replacement
System and equipment modification for new improved schemes
Process and control optimization
Process and utility integration
High and low level heat recovery and utilization
Reduced energy and feedstock consumption
Cogeneration
Flare gas recovery
Feasibility / Scoping Studies:

To determine the cost-effectiveness of a modernization, revamp, or energy conservation project, ACEC prepares feasibility study to identify the most promising alternative schemes on a technical and economic basis. These studies may show direct future capital investments so that funds are allocated to the most attractive options. The studies are used for funding, outside approval financing, preparing tender documents, and for planning engineering, procurement, and construction activities to fit in with the scheduled plant turn-around. ACEC has the experience and capability to perform any level of feasibility study, typically including the following aspects:
Defining areas to be studied
Establishing goals
Determining date required
Performing screening study to determine initial economics
Determining potential profitability
Estimating cost of project
Quantifying economics of schemes identified in screening study
Preparing overall project schedule
Plant Optimization:

Changes in supply and price, product demands and production costs, and the impact of energy utilization can make conflicting demands on operation. ACEC can assist in determining the optimum operating conditions within the existing equipment constraints to adjust for variations in the following:
Crude composition
Feedstock composition
Product slates
Production levels
Utility (fuel, power, steam) levels and pricing
Equipment selection
ACEC offers services in the following fields:
Linear programming computer runs
Capacity and Production studies
Energy conservation studies
Debottlenecking:

Bottlenecks can be related to a single piece of equipment or a combination of equipment and system. Usually, minor modifications can achieve the desired capacity production. But in some cases, a major revamp may be needed. ACEC has the experience and capability to identify bottlenecks and offer economical solutions. The services and capabilities which ACEC can offer the owner in a debottlenecking program include the following:
Equipment modification
Piping modification
Equipment replacement
Equipment substitution
Reduced traffic via optimum operating conditions/controls
Fouling control systems
Corrosion inhibitors
Furnace convection bank modification
Cathodic protection analyses and programs
